The COVID-19 pandemic has set in motion an unprecedented search for solutions, creating potential for accelerated vaccine development as well as new challenges.
Global investment in COVID-19 exceeds historical records. More than 250 candidates are in the race to develop a vaccine, proposing an exceptional number of novel technologies. More than 50 candidates have already started tests in humans. A few candidates plan to deliver a vaccine before the end of 2020. [2] [3]
