Susan Gasser, Director of the Friedrich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research, joins the newly installed Science and Technology Advisory Council of the European Commission. This council provides direct advice to the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, on how to create an environment for innovation in Europe.
