A consortium of researchers from HES-SO has developed and synthesized new ionic liquids, which are organic salts that are liquids at room temperature. They then integrated these ionic liquids to thermoelectric generator prototypes. The flexible and thin structure of these miniaturized generators should provide a better thermal contact to the heat source surface.
